Firefly Virtual Season

For those of you who loved Firefly and Serenity, an enterprising group of folks have banded together to create a Virtual Season of the show, their interpretation of how the TV show would have run if it had been given the chance. I have only read the first part of the first episode (which was just unveiled today), but so far it is very interesting and I look forward to completing the rest of the episode today. SciFi is showing a Firefly marathon on Friday before the new episode of BSG. I set my DVR to tape them all-- I've never actually seen Firefly and I thought that would be a great opportunity. I'm not sure if they are starting off with the first episode and ending with the last, so I might be coming in somewhere in the middle.

I still haven't seen Serenity. I hope watching Firefly will enhance the experience.

Watching Firefly first will definitely enhance the experience of the movie. When I have a chance I will check what SciFi is showing and let you know if it is the whole season or not.

I looked at the SciFi schedule and you should be in pretty good shape. They are showing most of the episodes, and, more importantly, they are showing them in the DVD order, which is the proper order, which is not what Fox did. However, they are not showing the original 2-hour pilot (Serenity) or the second 1-hour pilot (The Train Job), which is of course the shows that first introduce the characters. That being said, SciFi has a short synopsis of each episode (http://www.scifi.com/firefly/episodes/) that may help. You might want to read the synopses of the episodes you will miss, watch the first episode you taped, and then come back and read the synopses again once you have a feel for the characters. Then you should be in good shape.

Have fun! I think I might just have to watch some episodes myself in the next few days in your honor.
