Aug. 25th, 2006 07:28 amI've been way busy at work, and also haven't find many interesting stories lately, but I have a few today. Oh, and belated birthday wishes for
jlh!
- Movies
- Snake Eyes
I had wondered when someone would compare the poor performance if the hyped Snakes on a Plane to the amazing, brilliant, but unfortunately also lackluster performing Serenity, and of course it was Henry Jenkins! (Though he is actually referring to what someone else has written.)
- Snake Eyes
- Politics
- FS OKs 'morning-after' pill
Yay! Finally science trumps politics (haha Bush)! - Evolution Vanishes From Approved Federal List
ARGH! Politics trumps science (though they claim it's an error) (*seething disgust* Bush)! - Problems with touchscreen machines slow vote count
And C and I just saw this same issue being discussed on the show The Hill on Sundance from the 2004 election (highly recommend the show, btw).
- FS OKs 'morning-after' pill
- Television
- Someone has it in for the Sci Fi Channel
Someone perpetrated quite a hoax on the Sci Fi Channel, and who can blame them after the introduction of wrestling (WTF?!) and the cancellation of SG-1. - Stephen Colbert seeks viral-video stardom
I don't think any comedian out there understands online culture better than Colbert, considering this and the fun he had with Wikipedia a few weeks ago.
